Havanese Fanciers of Canada Rescue

Havanese Fanciers of Canada(HFC)Rescue, a part of Havanese Fanciers of Canada INC.,is a non-profit organization dedicated to identification, rescue and rehabilitation of neglected, lost and surrendered Havanese in Canada. HFC Rescue also focuses on breed information, responsible dog ownership, including spay/neutering, training and humane care of Havanese and other pets as well as education of the public regarding puppy mills and pet stores. Rescued dogs are provided with the attention, care and medical treatment necessary, including spay/neutering, until permanent homes can be found.

Any items are always appreciated other than food. Due to dietary issues, lifespan of the food etc. changing food from what they are accustomed to is a slow process. Therefore we do not take food as a donation but any other dog related items is appreciated. But a cash donation helps the most as it can be used for medical, food, care and all the hidden costs that go with caring for those rescued. Donations to the auction is very welcomed!

We ask for a donation of at least $100 to cover our bare costs. More is appreciated!

The average stay for one of our Havanese is 3 weeks to 1 month.  However, some Havanese can be with us for a long time.

We will provide information regarding introducing animals to resident pets.  If we are unable to resolve the issues, we will remove the Havanese as soon as we are able. We offer full support in helping you. You are not alone.

 Decisions are made by rescue on a case by case issue depending on needs but rescue pays all costs.

 Rescue provides their food, supplies, and medical care.

Provided that we have not already promised the dog or puppy into a home and you are approved, you may adopt your foster Havanese.

If you were out-bid by someone else you will receive an "You've been out-bid" messages via email.

 The person who donated the auction item pays for the shipping.

To donate an auction item, please e-mail [email protected] with a photo and description of your donation. Please keep your item in your possession. You are responsible for the shipping of your own donation within the US and Canada, and half the shipping costs for International winners, so please check into shipping costs prior to making your donation so there are no surprises. You will receive an e-mail notification from the rescue committee when the item has been paid for along with the name of the winner and their shipping address.
